Rise of the Runelords in the 612
Katabatix (post Grimblade)
Hail Kush. Thanks for joining me for a drink.
The Gray Lady Pharasma has an odd sense of humor don’t you think?. Both Kush and I are rendered unconscious midst a zombie hatchery and survive while Grimblade brings down that mutant goblin only to succumb to a couple of mindless undead. Pharasma is very fickle indeed. Unless, of course, there is hidden purpose in the play of events? As a long-lived race I find it more comforting to think that the gods do pay attention to us mortals and have skill at weaving a good tale. Of course we are more than mere players acting out a script. The World Play calls for bold improvisation. Perhaps Grimblade’s act has not yet spun out if we lend brave hand a directing? It occurs to me that Lonjitu and Tsuto Kaijitsu are both dead. Ameiko’s mother has already passed. So who inherits the sizable Kajitsu wealth? Maybe Ameiko, maybe not. Magnus, I know you’re good friends with Ameiko, but it might be best if she knew nothing of this, even though she would likely agree with our motives. Regardless, there is a wealthy manor house with no clear owner sitting just across Sand Point Harbor. Father Zantus tells me the main impediment to raising our good friend Grimblade from the dead is the lack of a goodly diamond, about 5000 gold pieces in value. It has been less than one day since Grimblade strayed into Pharasma’s realm. If my understanding of how the Gray Lady runs her Boneyard is correct we have a little over a week to recall Grimblade back to this realm. That seems like plenty of time to search for just one gem in the house of a dead and corrupt villain. Who knows, Pharasma may be kind to Grimblade when he recounts his death scene vanquishing undead, which are loath to the Gray Lady. If Grimblade fought lowly undead minions to his death at such a young age, what victories might he accomplish against the armies of undead if his story continued for a few more acts?
Thanks for acting so quickly to save my life in the catacombs,
